Employers can share job ad credits with their child sub-companies. This feature allows for a more streamlined and efficient process for managing job postings within a company.
Why share job ad credits with child sub-companies?
Many companies have multiple branches or subsidiaries, each with its own hiring needs. In the past, each branch would have to purchase its own job ad credits, which could become costly and time-consuming. Employers can now share their existing credits with their child sub-companies, making it easier to manage job postings and save money.
Before you start
To use shared job ad credits, the parent company must have an active subscription, job pack, or plan with available job ad credits. If the parent company is currently on Pay as you go and has no credits, you can upgrade by going to:
Pricing > Pricing Plans
From there, you can choose an available monthly plan or job pack.
How to share job ad credits
1. Check the parent company credit balance
Go to the parent company dashboard and check the active package or subscription.
You may see details such as:
active package or subscription name
available job ad credits
available featured ad credits
available visa check credits
package expiry date
transaction history
Example:
Premium Job Pack - 25 Ads
Available job ad credits: 20
2. Switch to the child company
Use the company switcher at the top of the screen to select the child company you want to post from.
The child company may show as Pay as you go, but if the parent company has available credits, the platform may show available shared job ad credits.
On the child company profile, you will see that they are pay-as-you-go but it shows that there are available credits that can be used.
3. Create the job ad under the child company
Once you are viewing the child company account:
Select Post a job.
Complete the job ad details.
Review the job ad.
Continue to the publishing/payment screen.
Make sure the job ad is being created under the correct child company before publishing. When you complete the job ad under the child company and come to publish the ad, you will see the child company has no credits but there are credits available to be used from the parent account.
4. Review the available shared credits
On the publishing screen, you may see that the child company has no direct job ad credits, but shared credits are available from the parent account.
The cart summary may show that publishing the job ad will use:
1 job credit
5. Publish the job ad
Once you publish the job ad, one shared job ad credit will be used.
For example, if the parent company had 20 available job ad credits before publishing, the balance may reduce to 19 after the child company posts the job.
The reduced balance may appear on both:
the child company dashboard as available shared credits
the parent company dashboard as available job ad credits
Child:
From the dashboard, if you switch Company back to the parent account. You will see the balance as well is decreased to 19 available credits.
Parent:
Congratulations, you've now shared credits between a parent company and child sub company and posted your ad.
Here are some scenarios to take into consideration:
Scenario: If the parent or child Account has no credits (0) when attempting to publish a job ad on the child account, the parent account has the option to either upgrade their subscription to a higher plan via Menu > Pricing > Pricing Plans or add a credit card to the child's account to make a payment of AUD $249.
Scenario: If the parent account has a subscription with credits and the child account has a subscription with credits, then the child account subscription will be used in all circumstances.
Important credit rules
If the child company has its own credits
If both the parent company and child company have active subscriptions or job ad credits, the child company’s own credits will be used first.
The parent company’s shared credits are generally used when the child company does not have its own available credits.
If neither account has credits
If the parent company and child company both have no available credits, you may need to:
upgrade the parent company subscription or plan
purchase a job pack
add a credit card to the child company account
pay for the job ad directly, if available
For example, the child company may be asked to make a payment of AUD $249 if there are no available credits to use.
If the parent company is Pay as you go
If the parent company is on Pay as you go and does not have available job ad credits, there may be no credits available to share.
To share credits, the parent company should have an active plan, package, or available credits.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see shared job ad credits on the child company
Check that:
you are viewing the correct child company
the parent company has available job ad credits
the parent company has an active subscription, package, or plan
the child company is linked under the parent company
If the parent company has no credits, there may be nothing available to share.
The child company is asking for payment
This may happen if:
the parent company has no available credits
the child company has no available credits
the child company is not linked correctly
the job ad requires payment because no credits are available
You may need to upgrade the parent company plan, purchase credits, or add a credit card to the child company account.
The parent company credit balance went down
This is expected if a child company used a shared job ad credit.
For example, if the parent company had 20 credits and the child company published one job ad, the parent company balance should reduce to 19.
The child company used its own credits instead of the parent credits
If the child company has its own active subscription or job ad credits, those credits will be used first.
Parent company shared credits are generally used when the child company does not have its own available credits.
I posted under the wrong company
Before publishing, always check the company shown at the top of the screen.
If the job has already been published under the wrong company, review the job ad settings or contact support before making changes.
Best practice tips
Check the selected company before posting
Always confirm whether you are posting under the parent company or a child company.
The job ad will be associated with the company currently selected.
Review credit balances regularly
Use the dashboard to monitor available credits across your parent and child companies.
This helps avoid failed publishing attempts when credits run out.
Use child companies for separate brands or locations
If your business has multiple branches, subsidiaries, or brands, child companies can help keep job ads organised and posted under the correct company profile.
