Setting up your DHL account and paperless customs

Credentials and setup guidelines for DHL eCommerce, Express, Freight, or Parcel integrations.

Written by Vineeta Pendse

To enable automated return shipping label generation in yayloh, we need to connect your DHL account. yayloh relies entirely on your specific account configuration to process labels. However, if you already route your shipments through an external TMS like Webshipper (Read more) or Unifaun (Read more) we can use them for label generation.

Note: For DHL Express cross-border returns, we strongly recommend using our direct Native Integration to ensure full support for automated Paperless Customs (Paperless Trade / PLT).

How to set up your DHL account in yayloh

To get started, please email support@yayloh.com with the following four items:

Indicate which DHL service division(s) you use.

3. Sample Shipping Label

Please attach a PDF sample of an existing shipping label from your account. We use this to verify formatting, barcode rendering, and address alignment during testing.

4. Carrier Shipping Rules

List any geographic restrictions for return label generation:

  • Allowed Countries: Destinations where return label creation should be enabled.

  • Blocked Countries: Destinations where return label creation should be disabled.

Note: yayloh can only generate labels for origin and destination countries that are actively enabled within your underlying DHL contract.

Paperless Customs Setup (DHL Express Only)

yayloh supports Paperless Customs (Paperless Trade / PLT) exclusively for international shipments routed through DHL Express.

Prerequisites:

  1. Account Activation: Paperless Trade (PLT) must be enabled directly on your DHL Express account by your DHL Account Manager.

  2. Credential Submission: Submit your DHL Express Export & Import Account Numbers as listed in Section 2 above.

Once received, the yayloh technical team will configure your DHL Express integration to transmit customs invoices electronically without requiring physical printed documents.
