A Location Policy is a rule that you can apply to not book from and/or to a specific location/area. Location policies are only configurable for an integrated Passenger App solution.
Typical examples of location policies are city areas where no cars are allowed so it should not be possible for a passenger to request a pickup from that area. You can manage these exclusions with a location policy.
Create a location policy
You can easily create your own policies by clicking the '+' button in the lower right of the screen. Here you can:
Name your policy, for example 'Pedestrian zone Amsterdam city centre'
Allow departure and/or destination. When you UNCHECK (one of) these boxes it means that you can not order from and/or to that specific location or area.
The 'Save policy' button saves your policy in the overview screen.
It is important to understand that you have only created the location policy, it is not yet linked with your passenger app in order to activate the policy.
Activate a location policy
To activate a location policy in your passenger app, you first have to add the policy to your location/area:
Open Location from the menu.
Open one of your created locations or areas.
Click on the dropdown 'Location Policies' and select the policy you want to add.
Hit the "save' button in the lower left of the screen.
You can add a policy to multiple locations/areas.
Now you can activate the policies for your Passenger App solution on the Passenger App configuration page in the menu 'Apps':
Open the app config for your passenger app by clicking on the row in the apps overview.
Navigate to, and open the tab 'Location Policies'
โCheck the checkboxes to activate the policies you want to activate!
Passenger App
Now that you have activated 'Location Policies' in your Passenger App solution the activated policies have the following client messages when a passenger tries to book from or to those locations/areas:
This location is not available as departure location, please try an alternative.
This location is not available as arrival location, please try an alternative.
