Creating Forms / Pre-Registration Campaigns

Build forms to collect information from your audience, run pre-registration campaigns, and grow your database.

YourKind forms let you collect information from your audience and automatically add respondents to your database. Forms are hosted at yourkind.io/f/your-form-slug and are commonly used for event pre-registration campaigns, mailing list sign-ups, interest forms, feedback surveys, and competition entries.

Setting Up Your Form

To create a new form, go to Forms and open the Create tab. You will be asked to configure the following:

  • Title — the name of your form, displayed to respondents.

  • Slug — the URL path for your form (yourkind.io/f/your-slug).

  • Description — a short description explaining the purpose of the form.

  • Header Image — upload an image to display at the top of the form.

  • Label — a tag that is automatically applied to every person who submits the form. This makes it easy to send a targeted SMS or email campaign to respondents later on.

  • Accent Colour — customise the form's accent colour to match your brand.

  • Theme — choose between a Dark or Light theme.

💡 Tip

The Label field is what makes forms a powerful pre-registration tool. For example, set the label to "Summer Launch Pre-Reg" and every respondent is automatically tagged. When you are ready to announce tickets, you can send a segmented campaign to just those people.

What We Collect Automatically

Every form automatically collects the following from respondents:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Location

This information is collected by default on all forms, so even without adding any custom questions, your form is ready to capture leads and grow your audience.

Adding Custom Questions

If you want to collect additional information, you can add questions using the composer. The available question types are:

  • Short Answer — a single-line text response.

  • Multiple Choice — respondents select one option from a list.

  • Checkbox — respondents can select one or more options.

  • Long Answer — a multi-line text response for more detailed input.

Any custom questions you add are required. Respondents must answer all of them before they can submit the form.

Publishing Your Form

Once you have configured your form, you have three options:

  • Create — publish the form immediately and make it live at your form URL.

  • Save as Draft — save your progress and publish later.

  • Save as Template — save the form as a reusable template for future forms.

Your published form will be accessible at yourkind.io/f/your-slug. You can share this link directly or embed the form on a YourKind landing page.

Viewing & Managing Responses

Once people start submitting responses to your form, you can view and manage them from the Manage tab.

From here you can:

  • View individual responses.

  • Export response data.

  • Publish a draft form.

  • Unpublish a live form.

How Respondents Are Added to Your Audience

When someone submits a form, their details are automatically added to your audience database with the label you set during form creation. If they already exist in your audience, their record is updated with the new information. This makes forms one of the easiest ways to grow, segment, and enrich your contact list.

ℹ️ Note

Because every respondent is automatically labelled, you can immediately use filters in your audience to find everyone who submitted a specific form and send them a targeted SMS or email campaign.
