How To View Or Add A Matter For A Contact In ZenCase

Overview

You can view all your matters associated to your contact from the Matters tab of the contact details page.

If the contact is a client, you will have the additional ability to:

  • Add matters

  • Import matters

  • Export matters

  • Search and filter matters

  • Edit matters

  • Add task, time entry, fixed fee, or expense for a matter

  • Add memos or files for a matter

    • Files requires Box.com or NetDocuments to be enabled and connected

Under the "Relationship" column in the matters table, "Client" will represent all matters directly created for the client. If you see a relationship other than "Client", the relationship represents the name of relationship role where the client is a connection on another client's matter.

How To View Or Add A Matter For A Contact

You can view all your matters associated to your contact from the Matters tab to:

  • Go to the Contacts list page

  • Select a contact in the table by clicking the contact's name

  • On the specific contact details page, click the "Matters" tab

  • You can click on the matter name under the Matter column of the table to view the matter details

  • For Clients, Click "Add Matter"

  • Enter Matter Name

  • Enter Matter Number (default will be auto numbered)

  • Enter Minimum Trust Balance

  • Select Originator

  • Enter Description

  • Select Matter Type

  • Select Manager

  • Enter Statute Of Limitations

  • Select Billing Type

  • Select Billing Cycle

  • Select Tags (multiple are supported)

  • Enter Billing Note

  • Check/Uncheck LEDES enabled

  • Click "Save"

You have now successfully created a matter for your client. You will automatically be redirected to the new matter details page once it's created.

From the matter details page, you can add tasks, enter Zen KM information, add memos, and manage all of your case information.
