You can now disable individual countries inside a running campaign. No need to turn off an entire tier just because one country in it is underperforming. Head to Campaign Insights on your live campaign, then the Countries tab, to try it.
What's new
Until now, the only kill switch available inside a running campaign worked at the tier level. So if Germany was underperforming inside your "English localized" tier, disabling it also paused the US and UK along with it.
With this update, you can disable countries one at a time, right from the tier they belong to. The rest of the countries in that tier keep running and spending as normal, and your budget shifts to the countries you keep on. If a market is delivering cheap listeners that don't stick around, you can cut it the same day you spot it.
How to disable a country
Open your live campaign in Campaign Insights.
Go to the Countries tab and open Manage tiers and countries.
You'll see a table of every tier and country, along with their CPF, CPL, and CPS costs. Find the country you want to turn off and click its toggle.
Confirm the change. Disabling a country resets the learning phase for that tier's ad set, so you'll see a warning before it takes effect.
The country stops receiving budget right away, while the rest of the tier keeps running.
Good to know
At least one country stays enabled. You can't disable every country in a tier. One always has to remain active so the tier keeps running.
Disabling resets the learning phase. Because it changes the ad set's targeting, Meta treats it as a new learning period for that tier.
Budget moves to the countries you keep on. Turning off a country doesn't change the tier's total budget — Meta naturally shifts spend toward the countries still enabled.
Disabled countries stay off at renewal. If your campaign renews, a disabled country stays excluded. Renewing doesn't restore the original targeting.
Your setup carries over when you duplicate the campaign. If you duplicate a campaign with countries turned off, the duplicate keeps the same countries disabled.
You can re-enable a country later. Toggle it back on after 72 hours. Just know that re-enabling it will reset the learning phase again too.
Common questions
Is this different from disabling a whole tier?
Yes. Tier-level controls still work the same way as before. This adds a finer level of control so you're not forced to pause an entire tier just to cut one weak country.
Does this affect Auto-Optimize?
No. Auto-Optimize still evaluates and pauses tiers automatically. Disabling an individual country is a manual action you take from the Countries tab.
Will I lose the data for a country I disable?
No. Its historical spend and performance stay in your reporting. It just stops receiving new budget going forward.
