[Ads] Can I Pause and Resume a Campaign?

Soundlink campaigns can't be paused mid-run, but here's exactly what to do instead — whether you want to take a short break, save budget, or pick back up later.

Pausing a live campaign isn't currently available on Soundlink — but depending on what you're trying to do, there's a straightforward workaround for each situation.

What are you trying to do?

I want to take a short break and restart later

The cleanest option is to stop the campaign now and relaunch it when you're ready. Here's what that means in practice:

  • Stopping immediately halts all ad spend

  • Any unspent budget can be refunded — just contact us with your campaign share link after stopping

  • When you're ready to restart, create a new campaign for the same track or playlist. Your previous campaign's performance data stays visible in your dashboard for reference

To stop your campaign: open it in your dashboard, click the Manage button next to Auto-Renew, and select Stop campaign.

I just don't want it to renew automatically when it ends

This is the most common reason people look for a pause — they want the campaign to finish its run and then stop, rather than auto-renewing and charging again.

To prevent renewal:

  1. Open your active campaign in the dashboard

  2. Locate the Auto-Renew toggle

  3. Switch it off

The campaign will run to completion and stop without charging you again. You can do this at any point while the campaign is still live.

I want to reduce spend without stopping completely

You can adjust your campaign budget directly from the dashboard — increasing or decreasing it mid-flight without stopping the campaign.

I want to stop ads in certain countries but keep others running

You can toggle individual campaign tiers on or off from your dashboard. This lets you cut spend in specific regions while keeping the rest of the campaign active.

A note on stopping and restarting

Meta campaigns (Facebook and Instagram ads) go through a learning phase where the algorithm optimises targeting and creative delivery over time. Stopping a campaign resets that learning, which means a restarted campaign will perform like a new one for the first few days. If your campaign is performing well, it's usually better to let it run through to completion rather than stopping early.

If performance is the concern rather than budget, message us before stopping — our team can review your campaign and suggest whether adjustments make more sense than stopping altogether.

Is a pause feature coming?

It's on our radar. In the meantime, the options above cover the most common reasons users want to pause. If none of these fit your situation, reach out via the chat bubble in your dashboard and we'll help you figure out the best approach.
