Headphones, notes, and more

Updated over a year ago

Below is some information regarding materials that applicants are permitted to use during the Casper test.

Headphones - Applicants are permitted to use headphones/earbuds to assist with listening to the videos or blocking out distractions. If you choose to use headphones, we recommend that you use standard corded/wired headphones, as some applicants have reported audio issues with wireless/Bluetooth headphones. If you choose to use wireless headphones, please test them with the Sample Test (available in the Casper section of your Acuity Insights account) to make sure they function properly and ensure that they are fully charged before you take your test.

Note taking - You are permitted to use a blank piece of paper, a pen/pencil, and a hardcopy dictionary during your test. You do not need to show your blank piece of paper or surroundings to your webcam prior to the test. You are not allowed to have pre-written notes. Also, translation and language apps/websites are not permitted as they can affect the content of the exam.

Food/Drink - You can drink and eat during your Casper test. However, we encourage you to focus on your test and spend the majority of your time typing your responses and paying attention to scenarios.

Browser - Please make sure that you are accessing the Acuity Insights website using an updated version of Chrome or Firefox on your computer. All other browsers (such as Safari and Edge) do not support the Casper test or the Acuity Insights website. You can download the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox HERE.
