Frequently asked questions:

See below for common questions and answers regarding Leads on Angi.

1. What are leads?

Leads are automatic homeowner connections. When a homeowner's project matches your offerings and availability, you'll automatically receive the project details as a new lead. You'll be charged for each new lead as soon as it's sent. It's up to you to reach out to the customer and win the job.

2. What are the lead types I will receive?

  • Market Match: Homeowner submits a project request and is matched with nearby service pros. If the project request matches your preferences, you’ll get a new lead notification.

  • Exact Match: Homeowner chooses to speak with you directly after looking at your profile and reviews.

  • Appointments: Homeowner books an appointment directly on your calendar. You’ll receive a notification and calendar invite when this happens. Make sure to update your calendar regularly.

3. How will I receive leads?

You’re in control of how you are notified of new leads. Manage and update your notification preferences to make sure you're set up with the method that works best for you. You can receive leads via:

  1. App notification

  2. Text message

  3. Email

  4. Phone call

4. What details are included in each lead?

There are a few details you’ll receive for every lead that comes your way. This information includes:

  • Homeowner’s name

  • How to contact them

  • Location of the project

  • Details of the project

5. How many service pros get each lead?

The total number of pros who get a lead depends on the type of lead and the service area the pro is in.

  • Market Match: Up to four pros.

  • Exact Match: As many service pros as the homeowner chooses to connect with.

  • Appointments: As many service pros as the homeowner chooses to connect with.

6. Is a lead a guaranteed job?

No, a lead is not a guaranteed job. You’ll need to follow up quickly with a homeowner to maximize your chances of winning the lead.

7. How much do leads cost?

The cost of a lead depends on several factors, including but not limited to project size, project location, and project type. You may be charged more for a lead when a homeowner chooses to connect with you directly. This includes Exact Match and Appointment leads.

8. How am I charged for leads?

You are charged for a lead as soon as a homeowner sends out a request for a pro who matches your area of expertise and coverage area. You are charged for a Market Match or Exact Match lead whether or not you open or respond to it. You are charged for an Appointment as soon as it’s sent, even if you fail to confirm the appointment, or cancel the appointment. You can find a breakdown of each lead and your billing statement on the Angi for Pros site or in the Angi Leads Pro app.

9. How do I manage my lead volume and budget?

You can increase or decrease your lead volume and budget by adjusting one or more of the following:

You can make many of these changes in your account. You can also send us a chat or call Customer Care for help.

10. What is a monthly budget?

Your monthly budget is an estimated dollar amount you’d like to spend each month on leads – it is not a hard cap. You determine your monthly budget and can adjust it as needed in the Angi for Pros site. Appointments, Instant Connect Calls, and Opportunities do not count toward your monthly budget.

11. Do all leads count toward my monthly lead budget?

No, all leads do not count toward your monthly budget. Only Market Match and Exact Match leads count toward your monthly budget. Appointments, Instant Connect Calls, and Opportunities are highly targeted and are billed separately.

12. Why did I exceed my monthly lead budget?

There are a few ways you can exceed your monthly budget.

  • If you have remaining monthly budget, we will match you with homeowners even if that lead exceeds your monthly budget. For example: If you have a $100 monthly budget and you’ve spent $80 for the month, you might receive a lead that could exceed that $20, depending on the cost of the lead.

  • We may also allow you to exceed your monthly budget when receiving directory leads. These are leads where customers specifically select you out of all available pros and are therefore highly engaged customers.

13. How does turning my profile to short-term coverage affect my leads?

You can turn your profile to short-term “busy" coverage if you have other commitments and want to limit the amount of new work you take on. Short-term coverage offer fewer tasks and ZIP code options, as well as the ability to choose which types of leads you do and don’t want to receive.

14. What should I do if I’m getting incorrect leads?

If you notice leads coming your way that aren’t relevant to you or the work you do, first check your account to make sure your services and tasks and service locations are correctly set. Correct any issues you find immediately to make sure the right leads come your way. In some cases, you can request a lead credit through your account or by chatting with us or calling Customer Care.
