Primary Role: Site-Level Admin
Learning Focus: Apply

Why It Matters

  • Users must have an account to log in and complete work in ANVL

  • Correct setup prevents access issues and rework

  • User roles and site assignment control what the user can see and do

When to Do This

  • A new employee is hired

  • A contractor or temporary worker needs ANVL access

  • An existing employee needs access to ANVL

Before You Start (Important)

  • You must be a Site-Level Admin with access to the Users tab

  • Every user must be assigned to at least one Group (Site)

  • Username cannot be changed after creation

For detailed field definitions, see User Fields Reference.

Steps: Add a New User

  1. Log in to ANVL Manager at insights.anvl.com.

  2. Select the Users tab.

  3. Select Add User.

  4. Complete the user form:

    • First Name and Last Name

    • Username

      • Cannot be edited later

      • Use the organization’s standard naming convention

    • Email

      • Must match the employee’s email exactly

      • If your organization uses SSO, this email is used to link to the identity provider

    • Phone (required only for "ADMIN" role and Supervisors)

    • Roles

      • TECH – required to complete workflows (ANVL Mobile app or Workflows on the web)

      • ADMIN – required to access ANVL Manager
Note: This does NOT grant Admin Panel access

    • Location: Assign at least one Group (Site)

  5. Select Create.

What Happens Next

  • The user receives a Welcome Email

  • Non-SSO users (ANVL Native Login)

    • Receive a temporary passcode

    • Must sign in within 24 hours to set their password

  • SSO-enabled users

    • Do not receive a passcode

    • Use their organization’s SSO to sign in via the email link

Encourage users to sign in as soon as possible after account creation.

Watch Out For…

  • Username cannot be changed after creation

  • Users without TECH role cannot complete workflows

  • Users without ADMIN role cannot access ANVL Manager

  • Special Rights (Admin Panel, Mobilize/Editor, etc.) cannot be assigned by Site-Level Admins
→ Contact your Business Administrator if additional access is required

What You Should See

  • New user listed in the Users tab

  • User assigned to the correct Group(s)

  • User able to log in successfully
