Why Is My Upsell Amount Incorrect?

Understanding upsell pricing discrepancies, tax configuration, and what to do when the amount doesn't match what was offered.

Common causes

  • Taxes not configured: If taxes aren't set up on your listings, the upsell amount won't include applicable taxes, causing a mismatch between what Besty communicated and what the alteration request shows.

  • Airbnb alteration rate mismatch: When processing an extra-night upsell via Airbnb, set the nightly rate on the alteration manually to match the price Besty offered. A standard rate alteration will produce a different total.

  • System error: In rare cases a bug may display the wrong amount. Report the guest name to your support channel for investigation.

How to configure taxes on upsells

  1. Go to Listings in Besty (app.getbesty.ai/listings).

  2. Select the listing.

  3. Click Upsell Fees and enter the applicable tax rate.

Once configured, taxes are automatically factored into upsell pricing and communicated to guests.

Upsell message says "prices don't include taxes and fees"

This means your upsell tax settings haven't been configured yet. Follow the steps above to add them.
