Buenro gives you control over what information you share and who can see it. Since the platform is designed to build real-world connections, it's important to balance visibility with your comfort and safety.
1. Profile Visibility
You can control who sees:
Your full profile
Your timeline of upcoming trips
Your follower and friend connections (Feature Coming Soon)
To update your settings:
Go to ☰ Menu > Settings > Privacy & Security
Visibility Options:
Buenro Community – visible to all verified users
Friends Only (coming soon) – visible only to mutual followers
Friends of Friends (coming soon) – visible to your extended network
Private – visible only to you
2. Timeline Visibility
Your timeline displays:
Booked stays
Upcoming trips
Groups you’ve joined
For each entry, you can control if it’s:
Visible to others
Joinable by followers or friends
Hidden from your profile
3. Booking Participation Privacy
When you join or curate a group:
Your profile photo, first name, and payment status may be visible to other group members
If you're a Curator, your name may also be visible to the Property Manager
You cannot book anonymously, but you can control who sees your participation via Timeline visibility.
4. Who Can Invite or Message You
From your Privacy & Security Settings, you can:
Block specific users
Control who can send you invites or +1 requests
Limit message requests to people you follow
5. Managing Your Data
You can:
Download your data on request
Deactivate or delete your account at any time
Request access or deletion of your data under GDPR
6. Private Reports and Complaints
Reports of harmful behavior or misuse of the platform are kept strictly confidential.
The person you report will not be informed of your identity, unless disclosure is required by law.
