How to Configure Platform Settings in Casa Loyalty

A full guide to Platform settings — order financial status triggers, shopping channel (Online/POS), minimum redeem delay, order parts eligible for rewards, customer/product tag exclusions, minimum spend for redemption, and points expiration.

The Platform settings (Casa Loyalty → Settings → Platform) control the core mechanics of how and when customers earn and redeem points — from which order financial statuses trigger rewards, to whether POS purchases count, to points expiry.

How to Access

  1. Open the CASA Loyalty app from your Shopify dashboard.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click Settings.

  3. Click Platform.

Order Settings

The top of the Platform page shows a summary card of your current configuration. The fields below let you change each setting.

Reward Customers When the Financial Status Is One Of:

  • Paid (default, greyed out — always enabled) — Points are awarded when the order is fully paid.

  • Pending — Award points even if payment is still pending.

  • Partially Paid — Award points for partially paid orders.

Points are also automatically cancelled when the financial status becomes Refunded or Partially Refunded.

Only Add Customers with at Least One Order

When enabled, customers are only added to the loyalty program once they place their first order. Customers with zero orders are skipped until they purchase something. Toggle: Only add customers with at least one order.

Online Purchases — Exclude Reward Points for Specific Payment Gateways

Enables you to block points from being awarded when a customer pays using specific payment gateways. Toggle: Exclude reward points for specific payment gateways.

Customer Tag Exclusion

Exclude specific customers from the loyalty program entirely using Shopify customer tags. Any customer with a matching tag will not earn or redeem points. See How to Exclude Customers from Your Loyalty Program Using Tags.

Excluded Product Tags

Prevent specific products from contributing to point earnings by tagging them in Shopify. Toggle: Exclude reward points for products with any of these tags. See How to Exclude Products from Earning Points Using Product Tags.

Reward Customers for Shopping

Choose which sales channels earn points:

  • Online and in-store (POS) — Points for both online and in-store purchases.

  • Online only (default) — Points for online purchases only.

  • In-store only — Points for POS purchases only.

Also set the Minimum Redeem Delay in Days (0 = no delay). This controls how many days must pass after earning points before a customer can redeem them — useful to account for return windows.

Reward Customers for the Following Parts of an Order

Define which part of the order total contributes to points calculation:

  • Subtotal (default, always included)

  • Exclude coupon discounts are used — If checked, points calculate on the post-discount subtotal rather than the original price. Note: Shopify store credit counts as a payment method, not a coupon code, so this toggle does not catch store credit usage.

  • Include taxes — Include tax amounts in the points calculation.

  • Include shipping — Include shipping costs in the points calculation.

Allow Reward Redemption Only If the Minimum Spend Is Met

When enabled, customers must spend a minimum amount in their order before they can redeem any reward. Toggle: Enable minimum spend requirement.

Points Expiration

By default, points never expire. To configure expiry:

  • Toggle Enable points expiration.

  • When enabled, choose a strategy: expire points from each customer's joining date, or run a fixed-date reset for all customers at once.

Points expiry can also be accessed from the Points tab via the "Manage points expiration" button.

Saving

Click Save at the top of the page to apply all changes.
