How Spending Bonuses Work

Spending Bonuses (the tab is labeled Limited-time Offer in the left navigation, but the feature itself is called Spending Bonuses throughout the actual builder) reward customers with bonus points or a discount/gift card when they spend over a set amount — essentially a cashback-style mechanic layered on top of your regular earning rules.

Navigate to Program → Limited-time Offer to get started.

Step 1: Enable the Program

At the top of the tab, you'll see "Your program is currently: on/off" with a toggle. Flip this to ON to enable all your Spending Bonus rules. Switching it OFF disables all bonuses at once — useful for pausing every promotion without deleting your rules.

Step 2: Create a Spending Bonus

Click "+ Create Spending Rules" in the top-right corner to open the builder.

Basic Information

  • Bonus Name — A clear, descriptive name (e.g. "Spend $100 get $10").

  • Description — Describe the purpose and details of this bonus (e.g. "Reward customers for spending over $100").

Spending Conditions

  • Spend Amount — How much a customer needs to spend to qualify (e.g. $20).

  • Frequency — Currently shown as a dropdown defaulting to "One-time." Per the in-app help text: "Bonus is capped at 1x per order. E.g. if the threshold is $50 and the customer spends $150, they still receive the bonus only once."

Customer Targeting

  • All Customers

  • Referred Customers

  • Custom Customer List — Coming soon.

Once saved, the rule appears in your Spending Bonuses list, where you can view active/scheduled rules, edit them, or delete ones you no longer need. Rewards for a Spending Bonus are added from the details page of that rule after creation.

How Customers Receive Rewards

Once a customer's order qualifies:

  1. The system calculates the bonus automatically.

  2. A gift card or discount code is generated.

  3. The customer receives it (e.g. via email).

They can then apply it to a future purchase.

📌 Note: The "Limited-time Offer" naming in the side menu suggests a date-range/points-multiplier promo mechanic, but the live builder we've verified is a spend-threshold → reward mechanic with a Frequency setting, not a date range. If you're documenting or troubleshooting a specific store, always confirm directly against the "Create Spending Bonus" screen rather than the tab name.
