FAQ: What are Spending Bonuses / Limited-time Offers?

A quick overview of what Spending Bonuses (Limited-time Offers) are and how they differ from regular earning rules.

What Are Spending Bonuses?

The short version:

Spending Bonuses reward customers with a discount code or gift card when their order total crosses a spend threshold you set — think of it as a cashback layer on top of your regular earning rules. In the app's left navigation the tab is labeled Limited-time Offer, but the feature itself is called Spending Bonuses throughout the actual setup screens.

How They Differ from Regular Earning Rules

Regular Earning Rules

Spending Bonuses

Triggered by an action (order, signup, review, etc.)

Triggered once an order crosses a spend threshold

Pays out in points

Pays out as a discount code or gift card

Set up in Program → Points

Set up in Program → Limited-time Offer

Example

Set a Spend Amount of $20 with a bonus reward — every time a customer's order hits $20 or more, they receive the reward. The Frequency setting controls whether this is a one-time bonus or repeats per qualifying spend, and the bonus is capped at 1x per order regardless (e.g. a threshold of $50 on a $150 order still only pays out once).

Where to Set It Up

Go to Program → Limited-time Offer, toggle the program ON, then click "+ Create Spending Rules" to build your first bonus — set the Bonus Name, Description, Spend Amount, Frequency, and Customer Targeting.
