Linking payment accounts allows two people to have separate CHIP accounts but have one payment account. ex. - husband and wife. They want to log their own workout scores, reserve their own classes, and buy their own stuff from the store... BUT they want to pay with the same account and not have to enter the payment information in twice.

Sub accounts are used in the case when the primary profile prefers to manage the sub account profile - reserving classes, pay and manage memberships, log workout scores, etc. An example might be Parent and Child. There is only one email to log in to CHIP.
