How to Identify Who Is Paying via Card on File vs. Who Is Emailed Invoices
To determine whether a customer is being automatically charged via a saved payment method or receiving emailed invoices to pay manually, follow these steps:
Log into Stripe and navigate to the Subscriptions section.
In the Billing column, note the labels:
Auto – the customer is being automatically charged using a payment method on file.
Send – the customer is being sent invoices via email to pay manually or so you can mark paid outside of Stripe.
Click More Filters.
Select Collection Method.
Choose either:
Charged automatically – shows customers billed to a payment method on file.
Send invoice – shows customers who are emailed invoices.
