Fixing Address Errors on Leads and Jobs

If address autocomplete stops working and no suggestions are populating, a simple page refresh usually fixes it. Here's why it happens and what to do.

If the address field on a lead or job stops showing suggestions when you type, the most common cause is an expired Google Maps token. Here's what that means and how to fix it.

Why addresses stop populating

Chariot uses Google Maps for address autocomplete. Google Maps requires a session token to return results, and that token can expire during a long session or after leaving a tab open for a while. When it expires, the address field will appear to work but return no suggestions.

The fix: refresh the page

A simple page refresh is almost always all it takes:

  1. Press Cmd + R (Mac) or F5 / Ctrl + R (Windows) to refresh the page

  2. Reopen the lead or job

  3. Try the address field again — suggestions should populate normally

If the address field is still blank after refreshing, try closing the tab completely and reopening Chariot in a new one.

Apartment or unit number not saving

After selecting an address from autocomplete, look for a secondary address field for the unit, apartment, or suite number. Don't include the unit in the main address line — enter it in the dedicated secondary field so it saves correctly and appears on estimates and the BoL.

Non-US addresses

Chariot supports non-US addresses. If you're entering a Canadian or other international address and it isn't being recognized, try entering it manually. See International (Non-US) Address Support for details.
