Changing Your Name or Email Address
There is currently no way to change the name or email address on your Chexy account directly. However, if it is absolutely necessary, our support team can do it for you.
How to Request a Change
Send us a message with the following information:
Your current email address
The new email address you'd like to use
To verify your identity, we'll also need:
Your date of birth
Your first payment amount (if any)
The last 4 digits of any card currently on file
Important: Aeroplan Members
If you've already linked your Aeroplan account to your current Chexy account, please be aware that once your original account is deleted, you will not be able to link your Aeroplan account to a new Chexy account.
Changing Your Verified Address
Your Chexy account has a verified address used for compliance and identity verification purposes. If you need to change this address, you must contact support to request a manual update.
This process typically requires:
Re-verifying your account
Resubmitting valid ID documentation
Your verified address is used for compliance purposes only. It does not affect how payments are processed, how funds are delivered, or impact your payee.
What If I Moved and Need to Update My Rental Address?
The address associated with your rental payments is managed per payment, not as a single default address. If you've moved:
Pause your existing recurring payment
Set up a new recurring payment with your updated address
Activate the new payment at least 4 business days before your due date
For certain payees, you may be able to update your rental address directly within the app when modifying an existing payment. If this option is available, you will see it during the payment setup or editing process.
Changing Your Language Preference
By default, Chexy detects your browser's language when you sign up and sets the app to English or French. This setting controls both the app's interface language and the language of your email notifications.
To switch languages at any time:
Sign in to your Chexy account
Click Settings (Paramètres)
Select My Profile (Mes coordonnées)
Use the Language toggle to choose English or Français
Your change takes effect immediately — no need to sign out or refresh.
