Managing Your Business & Personal Account

Hybrid view for business and personal expenses, pricing overview, and how to switch between account types.

Hybrid View Overview

Starting May 1, 2026, you can access both your business and personal payments under a single login, making it easier to track and manage all your payments without switching accounts.

With this update, you can now:

  • Use one account for both Business and Personal expenses

  • Add up to 10 cards in your Wallet

  • Use any credit card for business payments (personal or business cards accepted)

All personal payments remain at 1.75%, while business payments start at 1.99%. More details are available in the "Pricing overview" section below.

Everything you can do under Business:

  • Send payments via EFT payouts

  • Access higher payment limits

  • Pay employees, contractors, and vendors using Payroll and Supplier payments

Note: Only those with a Business account will see the hybrid view.

Categorizing your payments

Between May 1 and May 6, you'll have the option to review and categorize your existing payments in your Chexy Business account as either: Business or Personal.

If no action is taken by May 6 at 11:59pm EST, any uncategorized payments will automatically default to Business.

How to categorize your payments:

  1. Log into your Chexy Business account

  2. Review and categorize your existing payments (optional)

  3. Any uncategorized payments will remain under Business

What's the difference between Personal and Business?

  • Some payments are locked to your Business account by design — tied to either a business credit card or a business-only category (such as payroll or supplier payments), or made to specific business payees.

  • Business cards cannot be used for Personal payments. However, Personal cards can be used for Business payments.

Can I switch from a Business account to a Personal account?

Yes, you can switch your Chexy account from Business to Personal at any time.

How to downgrade

  1. Log in to your Chexy account

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select My Details

  4. Under Account type, choose the option to switch to a Personal account

What to expect when you downgrade

When you move to a Personal account, a few Business-specific features will no longer be available:

  • Business payments: You'll lose access to business tax payments, payroll, and supplier payments

  • Business credit cards: You won't be able to keep or add business credit cards on your account

Before you downgrade

To complete the switch, make sure you:

  • Pause or delete any scheduled business tax, payroll, or supplier payments

  • Remove any business credit cards linked to your account

Aeroplan offers

You'll still remain eligible for any Aeroplan offers you were previously enrolled in.
