Even with a well-maintained list of casuals, there are times when your initial booking request may go unfilled. ClassCover's Emergency List feature acts as a safety net, automatically reaching out to a broader pool of suitable casuals to ensure your booking is filled promptly.

What Is the Emergency List?

The Emergency List is an automated backup system that activates when your initial booking request isn't accepted within the set timeframe. It sends the request to additional casuals who match your criteria, increasing the chances of filling the vacancy without manual intervention.

How It Works

  1. Create Your Booking Request: Enter all necessary details, including date, time, subject, and role.

  2. Select Preferred Casuals: Choose the casuals you wish to send the initial booking request to.

  3. Enable Emergency List: Check the Send to Emergency List box during the booking setup.

  4. Set Delay Time: You can choose for the request to be automatically sent to your Emergency List up to 30 minutes AFTER the initial booking request goes unfilled.

  5. Apply Filters (Optional): Narrow down the Emergency List by subject or school level to target the most suitable casuals.

  6. Automatic Notification: If no one from your initial list accepts the booking, the system automatically sends the request to the Emergency List after the specified delay.

Do Casuals Know They're on the Emergency List?

No. Casuals receive the booking request as they would any other, without any indication that they were part of an Emergency List. This ensures a seamless experience and maintains professionalism.

Tips for Effective Use

  • Use Filters: Target casuals with specific qualifications by filtering the Emergency List by subject or school level.

  • Maintain an Active List: Regularly update your casual list to ensure a pool of responsive and available staff.

  • Combine with Smart Groups: Utilise Smart Groups to organise your casuals effectively, enhancing the efficiency of the Emergency List feature.
