When you're booked through ClassCover, it's natural to wonder how payment works. While ClassCover helps schools find and book casuals like you, in most cases, ClassCover does not handle payments for casuals. Here's what you need to know about how you're paid and how much you can expect to receive.

Who Handles Payment?

Although schools use ClassCover to request and manage bookings, your payment always comes directly from the school that booked you, not from ClassCover.

Each school manages its own payroll system and schedule, so payment times and methods can vary. If you ever have a question about a payment, it’s best to contact the school’s admin team directly.

How Much of the Daily Rate Do I Receive When Booked via ClassCover?

When you're booked through ClassCover, the entire daily rate is paid directly to you by the school.

ClassCover does not take any commission or fees from your earnings.

A Note for Victorian Teachers

If you're teaching in Victoria and are used to agencies taking a cut from your daily rate, ClassCover works differently. There are no deductions from your pay – you keep the full amount for every booking. It's a fairer way to get paid for the work you do.

How Is My Pay Calculated?

Your pay is usually calculated based on the hours worked, multiplied by the standard casual day rate set by the school or relevant education body.

Schools may use their own internal systems or the ClassCover Payroll Report to assist with calculations.

Is ClassCover Free for Casuals?

Absolutely! ClassCover is free for casual teachers to use. You can connect with schools, apply for jobs, and manage your profile at no cost. The only payment required is if you choose to access our professional development platform, ClassCover Learn.
