Making Pre-Confirmed Bookings: A Guide for Schools

Pre-confirmed bookings are designed to make life easier when you and a casual have already verbally agreed on the booking details – think of it as the final step after a verbal or written agreement. Once the booking is made, it’s locked in immediately – no need for the casual to confirm.

When to Use Pre-Confirmed Bookings

  • You already have the casual’s agreement – they've confirmed the dates with you.

  • You want to lock in the booking instantly, without waiting for them to accept.

  • You're scheduling for single or multiple non-consecutive dates once availability is confirmed.

⚠️ Important: Don’t assume availability – only use Pre‑Confirmed Bookings after the casual has agreed. If used without confirmation, casuals can disable bookings from your school, and your booking may revert to a standard request.

How to Make a Pre-Confirmed Booking (Desktop)

  1. Go to the ‘Bookings’ Tab

    1. Navigate to the Bookings tab, then select Pre-Confirmed Booking.

  2. Select the Date

    1. Enter the booking date. You can also search for a casual by name, distance from your school, subject, tags, teaching levels, or rating using various sorting options.

  3. Choose the Casual

    1. Click on the name of the casual you would like to book for your chosen date.

  4. Select Booking Type and Dates

    1. Choose individual dates (one day or multiple days) or set up a repeating booking.


    Note: For non-consecutive dates, use the Pre-Confirmed Booking feature and speak to the casual first to ensure availability.

  5. Fill in Extra Details

    1. Select the booking range (full day or half-day) and any additional information needed. You can also add attachments, notes, and payroll details.

  6. Confirm the Booking

    1. Click Send Booking Request to finalise the request. This will automatically book the casual without requiring their confirmation. The booking is confirmed immediately.


Steps to Make a Pre-Confirmed Booking

(App Version)

  1. Tap on ‘Bookings’

    1. Open ClassCover and tap on the ‘Bookings’ tab.

  2. Select ‘Pre-Confirmed Booking’

    1. In the bookings section, select the ‘Pre-Confirmed Booking’ option.

  3. Follow the Same Process

    1. From here, follow the same steps as in the desktop version to select the date, casual, booking type, and extra details.


Tips & Considerations

  • Availability matters: Confirm verbally or in person before booking.

  • Casual preferences: Some casuals restrict pre‑confirmed bookings if not notified first.

  • Flexibility: Use Flexi Bookings if details are still to be confirmed.

  • Admin notifications: When a booking reverts due to restrictions, you'll be notified.
