Keeping your ClassCover list of casuals up to date is key to getting fast booking responses and avoiding delays. One way to do this is by identifying and managing casuals who are no longer active or available.
Here’s how you can quickly identify inactive casuals and what steps to take next to maintain a high-quality list.
What Makes a Casual Profile Inactive?
A casual is considered inactive if they haven’t done any of the following in the last 90 days:
Logged into ClassCover
Responded to a booking request
Updated their availability
Inactive casuals are more likely to miss booking requests or be unavailable, which can lead to unfilled bookings and slower response times.
How to Check Inactive Casuals on Your List
There are two easy ways to spot casuals who may no longer be available:
Filter by status: Use the Active/Inactive filter in My List to view only active or inactive casuals.
Check profile activity: When viewing a casual’s profile preview, check the Last Active date. If they haven’t been active in over 3 months, they may no longer be looking for work.
What to Do With Inactive or Unresponsive Casuals
Send a Nudge
If a casual hasn’t responded to recent bookings, you’ll see the option to Nudge them in the My List page – a gentle reminder sent via push notification and email to prompt them to log in, update their availability, or switch off bookings if they’re no longer available.
You can send nudges individually or in bulk by filtering your list and selecting the casuals you want to nudge.
Message Them Directly
Want to follow up more personally? Send a direct message to either individual or multiple casuals to ask if they’re still available or remind them to update their status. This helps you decide whether to keep them on your list.
Remove or Hide From List
If someone’s no longer working casually, you can remove, hide or suspend them from your list. Alternatively, use grey stars to hide them from your booking shortlist without deleting them – handy if they might return later.
Pro Tip: Check Your List Health
Head to My List under the Manage tab to view your List Health Checker – a quick way to see how active your casuals are.
If your list is healthy, great! You're good to go.
If it’s marked unhealthy, you may have too many inactive casuals, which can lead to booking delays and low response rates.
Not sure what to do next? Here’s how to clean up your list and improve its health.
