As an educator, sometimes unexpected situations pop up that mean you need to cancel a booking. While honouring the bookings you accept helps maintain your standing with the schools you work with, if you do need to cancel a booking, it’s quick and easy on ClassCover.

This guide will walk you through how to cancel a booking directly through the app, giving you flexibility when things change.

Opt-In Teacher Booking Cancellations: How it Works

Opt-in Teacher Booking Cancellations is an optional feature that allows teachers to cancel bookings directly through the app. This feature can be enabled or disabled by each school for their teachers.

  • Schools' Choice: Schools can choose whether or not they want to enable this feature for their teachers. If a school prefers not to allow in-app cancellations, they will need to provide an emergency contact number for teachers in case they need to cancel.

  • Check Schools with Cancellations Enabled: Teachers can easily see which schools have activated this feature by visiting the My Schools page under the Schools tab on their profile. If cancellations are enabled, you’ll see a note indicating that you can cancel the booking directly.

Cancelling a Booking from Your Calendar (Web Version)

To cancel a booking from ClassCover on your computer:

  1. Log in to your ClassCover profile and go to My Calendar.

  2. Find the booking you wish to cancel and click on “Cancel Booking”.

  3. A pop-up will prompt you to provide a reason for the cancellation. After entering your reason, click “Confirm”.

  4. You’ll receive a confirmation notification, and the school will be notified via email.

If the school has not enabled cancellations, you will be provided with the school’s emergency contact number and email address for direct communication.

Cancelling a Booking from Your Calendar (App Version)

To cancel a booking through the ClassCover app:

  1. Open the ClassCover app and tap on the “Calendar” tab at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Find the booking you wish to cancel and tap “View More”.

  3. In the pop-up with booking details, tap “Cancel Booking”.

  4. Enter your reason for the cancellation, then tap “Cancel Booking”.

  5. Once the cancellation is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message, and the school will be notified by email.

If the school hasn’t enabled cancellations, you’ll see their emergency contact details instead.

By following these simple steps, you can manage cancellations efficiently and maintain clear communication with the schools you work with.
