Pausing Your CoachRx Subscription Instead of Cancelling
If you need a break - parental leave, travel season, slow client months, a temporary career change - you can pause your CoachRx subscription instead of cancelling. Pausing keeps your clients, programs, assessments, and templates exactly as you left them, and your subscription resumes automatically on the date you choose.
Pause vs Cancel: What's the Difference?
What Happens | Pause | Cancel |

Auto-resume on a chosen date | ✅ Yes | ❌ No (manual reactivation) |

How to Pause Your Subscription
Sign in to CoachRx on the web.
Go to Settings > Billing.
Click Cancel Subscription. This opens the new cancellation flow.
Move through the screens until you see the Contextual Offer step. You'll see a Pause Subscription option alongside cancel.
Select Pause Subscription.
Choose how long you want to pause - typically 1, 2, or 3 months. Your account will automatically resume on that date.
Confirm. You'll see a confirmation screen and an email receipt.
What Happens During the Pause
Your data is preserved exactly as-is. No 90-day deletion countdown.
You won't be charged during the pause period.
Your clients keep their accounts, but the app enters a read-only state - they can view their history but won't receive new programs or messages from you during the pause.
Your storefronts and Stripe-powered billing for clients are paused too. Active client payment cycles are paused at the same time.
You'll receive an email reminder 5 days before your subscription auto-resumes.
Resuming Early
If you want to come back sooner than planned:
Sign in to CoachRx.
Go to Settings > Billing.
Click Resume Subscription Now.
Your card on file will be charged immediately and full coaching access is restored.
Extending or Shortening Your Pause
You can adjust the pause end date once during the pause period. Go to Settings > Billing > Manage Pause and pick a new date. If you need to extend beyond what's available there, message support.
When Pause Is the Right Call
ℹ️
Pause is the right move when you know you'll be back. If you're closing your coaching practice for good, cancel instead - that lets you fully wind down within the 90-day retention window.
FAQ
How long can I pause for?
Standard pause windows are 1, 2, or 3 months. If you need longer, message support before you initiate the pause.
Can my clients still access their workout history?
Yes - read-only. They keep their app installed and can see past workouts, but you won't be able to assign new programs or send messages until you resume.
Will I be charged Stripe fees during the pause?
No CoachRx subscription charges during pause. Stripe payouts for client billing are also paused; client billing cycles resume when you resume the subscription.
Can I pause if I'm still in my free trial?
No. Pause is available only after you've moved to a paid plan. If you're in trial and not ready to commit, you can simply let the trial end.
