Payment Availability

Billing Frequency

How often can I charge my clients?

You can set up the following billing frequencies for your products and pricing plans:

  • One-time payment

  • Weekly

  • Monthly

  • Yearly

Discounts and Coupon Codes

How can I offer discounts or coupon codes?

To offer a discount, create a separate pricing plan for that product with the discounted rate. For example, if you want to offer 20% off a recurring subscription, create a new pricing plan titled something like "Remote Coaching - 20% Off" and set the price to 20% less than the original.

Trials

How do I set up a trial period for a client?

Select a future start date when assigning the subscription. For example, if you want to offer a 30-day trial, choose a start date 30 days out. The first payment will process on that start date unless the subscription is canceled before then.

Splitting Payments

Can I split a subscription into multiple payments per month?

Yes. Create additional pricing plans for the same product with the split amounts, then assign each plan to the client with different billing dates. For example:

  • Product: Remote Coaching

  • Original Plan: $300/month

  • Split Plan A: $150/month, billed on the 1st

  • Split Plan B: $150/month, billed on the 15th

Prorating

Are recurring subscriptions prorated?

Yes, prorating is handled automatically by Stripe based on the start date and billing date. For example, if your service is $300/month and a client starts on the 16th of a 30-day month, Stripe will automatically charge approximately 50% of the recurring rate for that first partial period.

Canceling a Client's Subscription

How do I cancel a client's recurring subscription?

Go to the Recurring tab in your Business Suite, click the three-dot menu to the right of the subscription you want to cancel, and select the cancel option.

Archiving Products and Pricing Plans

How do I remove a product or pricing plan I no longer need?

Products and pricing plans can be archived (not permanently deleted). Go to the Products tab, find the product or pricing plan you want to remove, click the three-dot menu, and choose Archive.

Payouts

When will I receive payments in my bank account?

Payouts are how collected payments get deposited into your bank account. Depending on your business location and payout schedule, funds from transactions are paid out on a rolling basis. For more details, see Stripe's payout documentation.

Tax

How do I charge tax on payments?

You can create tax rates from the Tax section within Payments. Once your tax rates are set up, you can apply them to subscriptions and one-time payments. You can also create custom tax rates directly from the subscription or payment screens.
