Client Reminders - Setup & Configuration

Schedule personalized reminders and push notifications for your CoachRx clients, including setup steps, use cases, and how clients receive them in the mobile app.

Updated this week

The Reminders feature in CoachRx lets you schedule personalized push notifications to your clients. Whether you want to send a motivational message, a check-in prompt, or a note tied to something personal a client shared in a consultation, Reminders help you stay connected at scale without relying on your own memory.

How Reminders Work

When you create a reminder, CoachRx sends a push notification to the client's mobile app at the date and time you specify. The client sees the notification on their phone just like any other app notification. Tapping it opens the CoachRx app.

Reminders are one-way - the client receives the notification but does not need to respond to it. Think of them as a scheduled nudge from you to your client.

Setting Up a Reminder

  1. Go to the client's profile in your CoachRx dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Reminders section

  3. Click Add Reminder

  4. Enter a title for the reminder (this is what the client sees as the notification headline)

  5. Enter the message content (the body of the notification)

  6. Select the date and time you want the notification to be sent

  7. Save the reminder

The reminder will be stored on the client's profile and will fire at the scheduled time.

Use Cases for Reminders

Reminders are flexible and can be used in a variety of coaching scenarios:

  • Personal milestones: A client mentioned they are starting a new job next Monday. Schedule a "Good luck at the new job!" reminder for that morning.

  • Check-in prompts: Schedule a reminder a few days after a client's first week to ask how they are feeling about the program.

  • Motivational nudges: Send an encouraging message on a day you know will be a tough training session.

  • Accountability: Remind a client about a lifestyle goal they committed to during their consultation (e.g., "How is the sleep routine going?").

  • Re-assessment prep: Remind a client a few days before their scheduled re-assessment to come prepared.

What the Client Sees

From the client's perspective, reminders appear as push notifications on their phone from the CoachRx app. The notification displays the title and message you entered. This makes reminders feel personal and timely, as if you sent the message in the moment.

ℹ️

Note: Clients must have push notifications enabled for the CoachRx app on their phone to receive reminders. If a client reports not receiving a reminder, ask them to check their phone's notification settings.

Managing Existing Reminders

You can view all scheduled reminders for a client on their profile under the Reminders section. From there, you can edit or delete upcoming reminders before they are sent. Once a reminder has been delivered, it remains in the history for your reference.

Tips for Effective Reminders

  • Keep messages short and personal - clients respond better to a genuine note than a generic one

  • Schedule reminders right after consultations while the details are fresh

  • Use reminders to reinforce lifestyle and behavior goals, not just training

  • Time notifications thoughtfully - a morning message on a big day feels intentional
