Written by Ashley Owens

INTRODUCTION

  • Require payment completion within a set hold window for court bookings

  • Restrict or allow members to self-manage membership changes

  • Gate access to a membership type based on an existing membership (e.g., renewal-only pricing)

  • Showcase membership perks on the portal without modifying system permissions

Portal Settings

  • Is Public - Check the box to make this membership type option visible on the member portal. Example:

  • Require Payment When Booking Courts Online — When checked, players must complete payment within the hold period set below or their reservation will be released.

    • Hold Time For Reservation (Minimum 15 minutes) — Enter the number of minutes to hold an unpaid reservation before releasing it. Example:

  • Require Payment Profile When Booking Courts Online - When checked, players with this membership type must have a payment profile saved to their account before booking courts online. If they have one at the time of booking, they can create on during the reservation flow.

  • Don't Allow Members To Change Membership - When checked, members cannot switch membership types without admin intervention.

    • Check this box if membership changes should be processed by an admin - for example, when tiered pricing (Free, Basic, Premium) requires oversight before a switch is approved.

    • Leave unchecked if you want members to self-manage upgrades or downgrades (e.g., Free to Premium, Monthly to Annual). Example where a member can make membership changes:

  • Membership Prerequisite(s) - Select one or more existing membership types to restrict who can access this membership. Only members who currently hold a prerequisite membership will see this option on the portal. For example, if your club wants to offer a discounted 2026 full-member rate exclusively to renewing members, set the 2025 full-member membership as a prerequisite — first-time members would need to join under a separate membership type before becoming eligible.

  • Additional Features - Use this tool to promote features that are part of the membership type. This tool adds an informational text line to the member portal but does not enable any features. Example:
