Fix “Failed to save ticket type” error

Updated this week

If you see a “Failed to save ticket type” error, it usually means something in your ticket setup is blocking the save.

This guide covers the most common causes and how to fix them.

🔍 Most common causes

1. Group size is larger than inventory

If you are using a Group ticket:

  • Your group size cannot be bigger than your available inventory

Example
Group size = 5
Inventory = 3

This will fail to save

Fix

  • Increase inventory to match or exceed the group size
    or

  • Reduce the group size

2. Ticket is not available on the online store

If the ticket is set to manual use only, it may not save correctly for storefront use

Fix

  1. Open the ticket type

  2. Make sure “Available on the online store” is enabled

  3. Save again

3. Missing required fields

Some ticket settings must be filled in before saving

Common ones:

  • Ticket name

  • Price

  • Inventory

Fix

  • Double check all required fields are filled

  • Try saving again

4. Inventory conflicts with shared inventory

If you are using shared inventory:

  • Your total capacity may be lower than what your ticket setup requires

Fix

  • Check your total event capacity

  • Make sure it supports your group sizes and ticket types

5. Temporary app or browser issue

Sometimes the error is not related to your setup

Fix

  • Refresh the page

  • Try again

  • Try a different browser

🧭 Quick way to troubleshoot

If you are not sure what is causing it, check in this order:

  1. Group size vs inventory

  2. Ticket is enabled for online store

  3. Required fields are filled

  4. Event capacity supports your setup
