This walks you through creating an Examply account and shipping your first project in about 10 minutes: sign up, create a team, create a project, and add your first tasks.
Note: You don't need a credit card to start. The Free plan supports up to 3 teammates and 2 projects, and you can upgrade later from workspace settings.
1. Create your account
Go to examply.com and click Sign up.
Enter your work email and choose a password, or continue with Google.
Name your workspace - most teams use their company name, but you can rename it later in workspace settings.
2. Create a team
From your workspace, click New team.
Name the team - for example, "Design" - and add a short description so new teammates know what it's for.
Invite teammates by email. Each invite defaults to the Member role, which can create and edit tasks but can't change workspace settings.
3. Create your first project
Inside your team, click New project.
Name it - for example, "Website relaunch".
Pick a starting view. Board is the default and works well for most teams; you can switch to List, Timeline, or Calendar at any time.
4. Add your first tasks
Press
Cto open the new task composer from anywhere in Examply.Give the task a title, assign it to a teammate - try assigning it to Priya - and set a priority.
Press
⇧Dto set a due date, and add an estimate if you're tracking capacity.Break larger tasks into subtasks, and mark one task as blocked by another if the order of work matters.
Once a handful of tasks exist, switch to List view to sort by priority or due date, or try Timeline view to see how tasks are spaced out over the next few weeks.
5. Invite the rest of your team
Go to workspace settings and invite the remaining teammates, choosing a role for each - Owner, Admin, Member, or Guest. Members can create and edit tasks; Guests only see the projects they're explicitly invited to, which is useful if you work with outside clients or contractors. See Inviting teammates for more on seats and billing, and Roles and permissions explained for what each role can do.
6. Turn on time tracking, if you bill by the hour
If your team tracks billable time, press T on any task to start a timer, or start one manually from the task detail panel. Time logged this way rolls up automatically into that week's timesheet, which a manager can review and approve before it's used for invoicing.
