You can export a copy of your workspace data at any time, or permanently delete a workspace you no longer need. This article covers both, and what happens to your data in each case.
Exporting and deleting are separate actions — exporting never removes anything from your workspace, and you don't need to export before you delete, though we strongly recommend it.
Warning: Deleting a workspace is permanent. Projects, tasks, timesheets, and files are removed and can't be recovered. Export your data first if you might need it later.
Export your workspace data
Open workspace settings and go to General.
Click Export workspace data.
Choose what to include: projects and tasks, timesheets, or both.
Click Request export.
Examply emails you a download link when the export is ready. Exports are delivered as a ZIP of CSV files and are available to Owners and Admins. Large workspaces with a long project history can take a few minutes to prepare — you don't need to keep the tab open while it processes.
Download links expire after 7 days. If yours expires before you download it, request a new export — there's no limit on how many times you can export. Exporting doesn't require pausing your subscription, and teammates can keep working normally while an export is being prepared.
Delete your workspace
Only the Owner can delete a workspace. Deleting removes every project, task, timesheet, and file, and cancels access for every teammate — including Admins.
Open workspace settings and go to General.
Scroll to Delete workspace and click Delete.
Type the workspace name to confirm.
Click Permanently delete.
Examply cancels any active subscription and removes access for every teammate immediately. There's no grace period, so make sure you've exported anything you need first.
Tips
Export your data before downgrading from a paid plan, too — some data, like Timeline views and time tracking history, isn't visible once you drop below the plan that includes it.
If you have multiple workspaces, deleting one doesn't affect the others, even if they share teammates.
If you just want to remove one project rather than the entire workspace, archive or delete the project instead — that's reversible for a limited time, unlike deleting a workspace.
Contact support@examply.com if you deleted a workspace by mistake — recovery isn't guaranteed but support may be able to help within a short window.
