When does the Traveler get charged for a booking?

First of all, Your booking is confirmed even if your credit card has not been charged immediately. Here's how it works:

  • At the Time of Booking: You'll see the total amount you're paying. This includes any part of the payment due immediately and any remaining balance (labeled as "Rest Payment Due on Date").

  • If No Immediate Charge Is Due: Your card is checked (validated) but not charged right away. The total payment will be automatically taken from the payment method you selected during booking closer to your experience date. This could be the card you used for booking or a different card saved in your Wallet (accessible from Settings in the Main Menu).

  • Payment Reminder: We'll remind you about any upcoming payments:

    • Three Days Before the Due Date: Look out for a notification in the app or web's notification center and an email reminder from us. This will ensure you're aware of any remaining balance that will be charged.

    • Rest Payment Processing: On the Rest Payment Due Date, Fernwayer will process the payment and send a confirmation email and notification upon successful processing.

    • Second Attempt to process Rest Payment. If Fernwayer is unable to process the payment, you will get another notification/email reminder to provide a valid payment method in the Wallet. If we are unable to process the payment the second time, your booking will be cancelled and any refund will be issued minus applicable cancellation fees, following the cancellation policy.

  • Payment Method:

    • Travelers should ensure the payment method used at booking remains valid or have an alternate valid payment method in their Wallet.

    • Fernwayer will use an alternate payment method if the original is not valid. You can specify a preferred payment method; if required, Fernwayer will use this as the first alternate option. If no preferred method is specified or it is invalid, payment will be processed using the next valid method in the Wallet.

    • This process ensures that your booking is secure and confirmed, even if the payment isn't completed in one go. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out.
