FOR EXPERIENCE MAKERS

Updated over 5 months ago

As an Experience Maker on Fernwayer, you have the discretion to define the 'Number of Hours Before Booking Closes' for your Experience. This critical detail dictates how many hours in advance of the experience start time travelers can book, and it must be clearly stated in your Experience description.

  • Common Practices: Many Experience Makers find that setting this window to 1 - 3 days (24 - 72 hours) before the experience starts is optimal. However, the nature of your Experience might require a longer preparation time.

  • Extended Preparation Times: For experiences demanding more extensive preparation or coordination among multiple hosts, a longer timeframe such as 7 days (168 hours) or 10 days (240 hours) may be necessary. Adjust the 'Number of Hours Before Booking Closes' accordingly to ensure you can prepare thoroughly and deliver an exceptional experience. However, keep in mind that longer timeframes will limit last-minute buyers. So, strike the right balance.

  • Adaptability: You can update the 'Number of Hours Before Booking Closes' in your Experience description as needed. This adaptability allows you to fine-tune your offering based on operational capabilities and as your Experience evolves.

How to View and Update Your Booking Window:

Follow these steps to view and update your Booking window:

First, log in and navigate to My Profile from the main menu. Once there, scroll to select the specific Experience you wish to modify > click to open its page. Next, click on the three dots next to the Experience Title > a dropdown menu will appear. From this menu, select the pencil icon > begin editing your Experience's description.

Then, Go to Step 5 : Provide experience details and scroll down to the field " Number of hours Booking closes before scheduled start". You may change this number at any time to reduce or extend the booking window. Note that if you reduce the booking window, all entries that would have been unavailable under the old booking window will reappear if within the new timeframe. This is a great way to enable last minute travelers to book an entry after the booking window has closed.
