I can't upload a document

What to try if a document won't upload in the app.

Written by Stephen Paul

If a document won't go through, try these.

Check the file size. Very large photos can fail. If your phone takes big pictures, try taking the photo again in a lower quality setting, or crop it.

Use a photo or a PDF. Those work best. Unusual file types sometimes don't.

Check your connection. Uploading over patchy mobile data often fails halfway. Try again on Wi-Fi.

Give the app permission to use your camera and photos. If you said no the first time it asked, it can't open your camera roll. You can change this in your phone's settings, under Florence.

Close the app and open it again, or restart your phone.

Update the app if there's a newer version.

While you're at it, make sure the photo is a good one. Get the whole document in the frame, including the corners. Lay it flat on a plain surface in good light, and check the text is readable before you send it. A blurry or half-cropped photo will be rejected and you'll have to do it twice.

If it still won't upload, email the document to hello.ca@florenceapp.com and we'll add it to your account for you.
