Suspensions and account reviews

Why an account might be reviewed or suspended, and what to do about it.

Written by Stephen Paul

Florence only works if care homes can rely on the people who book their shifts. So we do review accounts, and in some cases suspend them.

The usual reasons are cancelling repeatedly at short notice, not turning up to a booked shift, or serious concerns raised by a care home about safety or conduct.

Cancelling once because you're ill is not a problem. Life happens, and we'd always rather you cancelled than worked while unwell. What we look at is a pattern.

If we need to review your account, we'll tell you. We'll explain what we've seen and give you a chance to tell us your side. If there's a reason we don't know about, that's the moment to say so.

A suspension isn't always permanent. Depending on what happened, we may lift it after a conversation.

If your account has been suspended and you don't understand why, email hello.ca@florenceapp.com and ask. We'd rather explain it properly than leave you guessing.

The simplest way to avoid all of this: only book shifts you're confident you can work, cancel early if something changes, and tell us if there's a problem before it becomes one.
