Taking a break from Florence is fine. There's no minimum you have to work, and you don't need to tell us you're going. Plenty of people work a run of shifts, disappear for a few months, and come back.
You don't need to register again. Your account is still there. Sign in with the same email address and it'll all be where you left it, including your work history and your ratings.
Please don't create a new account. You'd lose your history and split your documents across two profiles, and it takes us a while to untangle.
What may have changed while you were away.
Your documents. Most of what you uploaded doesn't expire, including your Vulnerable Sector Check, your diploma, your immunization records and your proof of address. But some things do. Your CPR and First Aid certificate is the usual one, because it needs renewing. You may also have to renew your work/study permit with us.
Your CNO registration, if you're a nurse. Registration is annual, so if you've been away for a year or more, check yours is still current.
Our requirements. Occasionally what care homes ask for changes. If something new is needed, we'll tell you.
Open the app and check your dashboard. Anything expired or missing will be flagged there, and you won't be able to book shifts until it's sorted. That's the quickest way to find out where you stand.
If you've been away a long time, or you're not sure what's needed, just email hello.ca@florenceapp.com and ask. Tell us roughly how long it's been and we'll look at your account and tell you exactly what's outstanding. That's much faster than guessing.
One thing worth knowing: a Vulnerable Sector Check has to be less than 6 months old when you first join us, but it doesn't expire once you're on the system. So a long break doesn't automatically mean redoing your VSC.
If you can't sign in at all, don't start again. Email us and we'll get you back into your existing account.
