1. Launch Campaign Creator for Amazon DSP
Start by accessing Amazon DSP - Smart Campaigns within Campaign Creator.

3. Choose Your Advertising Goals
Select one or more advertising goalsβyou can create campaigns for multiple goals at once. Each goal unlocks campaign strategies tailored to its stage within the advertising funnel.
4. Pick Campaign Strategies
Each strategy represents a different campaign structure tailored around targeting outcomes. For example:
Awareness β Lifestyle, Life Events, Complementary Audiences Targeting
Consideration β In-Market, Competitor Retargeting, Contextual Targeting

π‘ Each goal and strategy combination will result in generating a new campaign. Campaigns will not be submitted to Amazon until all steps have been completed so don't worry if you need to make changes by adding or removing campaigns later.
5. Establish Campaign Budgets and KPIs for Optimization
Each campaign strategy comes with:
Recommended minimum budgets
A default primary KPI (e.g., DPVR, T-ROAS)
An optional KPI target (e.g., 1.50% DPVR)
A pre-generated campaign name

6. Preview & Customize your Line Items
Each campaign strategy automatically generates DSP-compliant line items:
3 default line items for most campaign strategies:
1 to target Amazon Owned & Operated (O&O) Inventory placements
1 to target the Amazon Publisher Direct Inventory placement
1 to target Third-Party Exchanges
1 line item for the Contextual campaign strategy which only supports Amazon Owned & Operated Inventory placements

7. Add Audience Targeting
Each advertising goal includes suggested audiences for each campaign strategy plus available AMC audiences. It is important that any custom audiences have been created prior to creating campaigns to allow time for Amazon to review and approve those audiences for use. DSP Product Audiences: Behavior-based audiences (e.g., past product viewers/purchasers)
AMC Audience Queries: Curated templates you can use with no SQL required
π‘ For all Line Items created in Teikametrics, excluding line items on Contextual campaigns, at least one audience target is required to continue.
π‘ You can also optionally enable the Reach Similar Audiences setting on line items to expand delivery to shoppers with similar behaviors.
8. Add Categories for Products and Services
For each new Line Item, Amazon requires that categories are applied for the products and services being advertised. Click on "Add Product Categories" and use the available search bar to find the categories that most closely match with the products entered in Step 2.
9. Apply Creatives to all Line Items
Teikametrics automatically recommends creatives based on the ASINs you selected in Step 2. If there is a match between these advertised products and Display creatives in your account, Teikametrics automatically applies those creatives to your Line Items for you. Additionally, you can:
Review the creatives already applied
Search your creative library to apply or change creatives on any line item
Optionally generate new Responsive e-Commerce Creatives (RECs) for any product(s) without leaving the campaign creation workflow
π‘ At least one creative is required for each line item. New RECs will be reviewed by Amazon after the campaign has been submitted and the approval status will be reflected in the Full-Funnel Ads Manager. If creative is approved by Amazon, the line item and campaign will begin delivery according to the specified delivery timeline.
10. Review and Submit
Once all line items have Targeting, Product Categories, and Creatives you will see the option to "Submit" at the bottom of the workflow. If everything looks good, submitting will immediately request campaign creation on Amazon in real time.
π‘ Campaigns submitted will immediately be available within the full-funnel ads manager where you may still make changes to campaign delivery and line item settings, including targeting. Please note, it may take some time for all of your campaign data to finish syncing.

Who can use Smart Campaigns?
Smart Campaigns are available on any account with a connected Amazon DSP Advertiser. Whether you are a CSM, Agency, or Brand managing DSP through Teikametrics you will be able to take advantage of these powerful new features.
Can I edit campaigns after creation?
Yes, once created, you can edit your campaigns and line items directly from the Ads Manager.
Are all DSP settings editable?
We provide fixed values for several fields to simplify campaign creation, but key parameters like budgets, delivery, KPIs, and targeting are editable. For a complete list of system settings that are not able to be modified, refer to these resources.
What about other types of DSP campaigns such as STV and OLV?
We plan to expand Smart Campaigns to include campaign creation for other media types beyond Display ads in the future. With this first release, only Display is supported.
