Use this to model rounded vertical elements, for example a silo, a column, a water tower, or a tapered tower massing (by setting different top and bottom radii).
Category: Construct Primitive
Kind: Operation
Description: construct a cylinder primitive
Inputs
Name | Abbreviation | Type | Access | Description |
position (optional) | P | Cartesian | Item | the position of the cylinder |
radius top (default 0.5) | Rt | Number | Item | the top radius |
radius bottom (default 0.5) | Rb | Number | Item | the bottom radius |
height (default 1) | H | Number | Item | the height of the cylinder |
segments (default 32) | S | Number | Item | the number of segments |
anchor (default "center") | A | String | Item | center or bottom |
xyz rotation (default 0,0,0) | R | Vector | Item | local xyz rotation in degrees |
Outputs
Name | Abbreviation | Type | Access | Description |
feature | F | Cartesian | Item | the cylinder primitive |
How to
Add the Cylinder node.
Optionally set "position", or leave it unset to place it at the project origin.
Set "radius top" and "radius bottom" separately, plus "height" and "segments". Make the radii equal for a straight cylinder, or different for a tapered one.
Set "anchor" to center or bottom.
Optionally set "xyz rotation".
The output is a 3D cylinder geometry.
