Overstay Fees

Updated this week

❓ What are occupancy fees?

Overstay fees apply when a vehicle remains plugged into an Electra fast charging station after charging is complete.

These fees aim to improve access to charging stations by encouraging users to free up their spot once charging is finished, allowing other drivers to use the stations.

🛠️ How does it work?

1. Free grace period ⏱️
Once charging is complete, 75 free minutes are granted to unplug the vehicle and leave the station.

2. Preventive notifications 📱
Notifications are sent before reaching the 75-minute limit to allow time to return and unplug the vehicle and avoid fees. Notifications must be enabled in the Electra app.

3. Automatic billing 💳
If the vehicle remains plugged in beyond these 75 minutes, occupancy fees of €0.40 per minute apply automatically and are added to the charging cost.

✅ Who is affected?

This feature applies to users who meet the following conditions:

  • Use the Electra app to charge

  • Perform fast charging

💡 Occupancy fees help reduce station congestion, especially during peak hours, and ensure fair access to charging points for all users.

💡 How to avoid occupancy fees?

  • Enable notifications in the Electra app to be alerted before fees apply

  • Unplug the vehicle before reaching 75 minutes of charging
