When you hire a lawn care service with your free GreenPal account, the lawn care company you hire will not charge you upfront for a service that they have not completed. Instead, your card is used to reserve a spot on the lawn care company's schedule with their card processor they have connected to their account. Here’s how it works:
Reserve Your Spot: When you hire a lawn service, your card details are entered directly into your lawn company's Stripe merchant account to hold your place on their schedule. They do not charge you at this point.
Service Completion: Once your lawn care provider completes the service, they will upload a photo of your completed work to your GreenPal account.
Confirmation and Payment: After you confirm that their work has been completed to your satisfaction, only then will the lawn care service you hired bill your card directly through their connected card processor powered by Stripe.com. (GreenPal does not bill you, there is no customer relationship between you and GreenPal)
Secure Payment Handling: All your payments are processed through the lawn care company's secure Stripe merchant account, not GreenPal. This ensures your payment details are safe and only used for the agreed service.
The Good News? You do not need to be home when your lawn is serviced. You will receive an email with a photo of their completed job, and your card will be charged by your lawn company at midnight on the day of service only after you confirm the work.
Some vendors accept cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo if you prefer other payment methods. You can arrange this directly with the vendor after reserving your spot with a credit card.
