How do I cancel, change, or uninstall my Atlas subscription?
You can manage your Atlas subscription directly from your Shopify admin. Whether you're looking to cancel, switch plans, or uninstall the app entirely, these actions can be completed in a few steps.
In this article:
How to cancel your subscription
Open the Atlas app from your Shopify admin.
In the left-hand menu, click Subscription.
Click the red Cancel Subscription button.
If you don't see the cancel button, your subscription has already been cancelled.
note: cancelling your subscription will immediately remove access to all paid features. This takes effect as soon as you confirm the cancellation.

Understanding Atlas pricing
When you subscribe to Atlas, you choose between a monthly or annual billing cycle.
Monthly plan: Atlas uses a fair pricing system. The base monthly cost is $49 USD/month. However, if your store generates more than $5,000 in added revenue through Atlas tools (specifically Atlas Bundler and Cart Upsells) during a given month, the cost for that month will be $99 USD instead. This only applies to the months where your added revenue from those tools exceeds the $5,000 threshold. In months where it doesn't, you'll continue paying $49.
Annual plan: The annual plan locks in your rate for the full year. If you're planning to use Atlas long-term, this is generally the better option since it offers savings and a consistent billing amount.
Switching from an annual plan to a monthly plan
You can switch from an annual plan to a monthly plan, but it is strongly recommended that you wait until just before your annual plan is about to renew before making the switch.
Why? Two important things to understand here:
If you switch to a monthly plan before your annual period is up, your annual subscription will be cancelled immediately. You will not retain access for the remainder of the annual billing cycle you already paid for. Your account will be moved to the monthly plan right away, and you'll start being billed monthly from that point.
If you wait too long and your annual plan reaches its renewal date, it will automatically renew for another year.
The best approach is to cancel your annual plan shortly before the renewal date, then start a new monthly subscription.
To make the switch:
Open the Atlas app and navigate to the Subscription section.
Cancel your current annual subscription.
Start a new subscription and select your preferred monthly plan.
Why can't I switch directly? Shopify handles app billing on a per-subscription basis. Each plan is treated as a separate billing agreement, which means changing plan types requires cancelling the existing one and creating a new one. This is a Shopify platform limitation, not an Atlas restriction. You can learn more about how Shopify manages app billing in their official documentation.
Switching to the free plan
To downgrade your account to the free plan:
Open the Atlas app and navigate to the Subscription section.
Click Cancel Subscription.
Please note: once you cancel, you will lose access to all paid features immediately. Your account will be switched to the free plan as soon as the cancellation is confirmed. Make sure you're ready to transition before proceeding.
Uninstalling the Atlas app from Shopify
If you want to remove Atlas from your store entirely:
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels.
Find Atlas: AI Store Builder in the list.
Click Uninstall to remove the app.
Important: Uninstalling the Atlas app will automatically cancel your subscription. You do not need to cancel separately before uninstalling. However, if you only want to cancel your subscription but keep the app installed (for example, to retain your theme or settings), follow the cancellation steps above instead of uninstalling.
Important things to know
Cancellation takes effect immediately. As soon as you cancel your subscription, access to paid features is removed. There is no grace period, so be sure you're ready before confirming.
Annual plans auto-renew. If you're planning to switch or cancel, do so before your renewal date to avoid being billed for another year.
Subscription management requires the right permissions. The account owner can always manage subscriptions. Staff and admin users can also cancel or change plans as long as they have the necessary permissions enabled in their Shopify account. You can review user permissions under Settings → Users and permissions in your Shopify admin.
You can start a new plan at any time. After cancelling, you're free to select a new plan right away.
Monthly pricing adjusts based on your added revenue. You'll pay $49/month as a base, with the cost increasing to $99 only in months where your Atlas Bundler and Cart Upsell revenue exceeds $5,000.
