If you've applied a discount code to your Atlas subscription but Shopify is still showing the full price, it doesn't necessarily mean the discount isn't working. Shopify's billing display and the actual amount charged can look different, which can cause confusion.

How Atlas discounts work
Discount codes can only be applied when starting a new Atlas subscription. If you're already subscribed, you cannot apply a discount code to your existing plan. The discount code must be entered during the subscription process before approving the charge.
Once applied, the discount reduces your base plan charge when the invoice is processed. However, Shopify's billing overview does not always display the discounted amount. It may still list the full plan price. The discount is applied at the point of invoicing, so the actual amount charged to your payment method will reflect the correct discounted price.
For example, if you have a 50% discount on your base plan, Shopify may still display "App: $39/month" in the billing section, but only $19.50 will actually be charged.
⚠️ Discount codes can only be applied to new subscriptions. If you're already subscribed to Atlas, the discount code field on the Plan details page will not work. You would need to cancel your current subscription and start a new one to use a code. Keep in mind that cancelling removes access to all paid features immediately.
Why Shopify shows the full price
Shopify controls how charges are displayed in your billing overview. Discounts are often not reflected visually on the billing page, even when they are active and being applied. This is a Shopify platform behavior, not an Atlas issue.
The most reliable way to confirm your discount is active is to check the Plan details tab in the Atlas app under Subscription.
What discounts apply to
Discount codes apply to the $39 base monthly fee only. They do not reduce any usage-based charges that may be added to your bill if your store exceeds the base tier limits for published pages, AI photos, bundler revenue, or cart orders.
For example, if you have a 50% discount and your store hits Tier 2 on bundler revenue (+$20/mo), your bill for that month would be $19.50 (discounted base) + $20.00 (usage charge) = $39.50.
⚠️ Discounts only apply to the base plan fee. Usage-based charges are always billed at the standard tier rates regardless of any active discount codes.
What to do if your discount isn't being applied
If your next invoice reflects the full price with no discount applied:
Open the Atlas app and go to Subscription → Plan details to confirm the discount code was accepted.
Check that the discount is still active. Some codes have an expiration date or a limited number of billing cycles.
Wait until the next invoice is processed. Discount changes apply to future billing cycles, not retroactively.
If the discount still isn't reflected after your next invoice, reach out to the Atlas support team through live chat by typing "Talk to agent" in the chat window, or by emailing support@helloatlas.io.
