Understanding your Atlas subscription

Learn how the Atlas plan works, what's included, and how usage-based pricing keeps costs fair as your store grows.

Atlas uses a single, straightforward plan that gives you access to every feature from day one. Instead of locking features behind higher-priced tiers, Atlas starts at a low base price and only charges more when your store is actively growing through Atlas tools. This means you're never paying for features you don't use.

In this article:

The Atlas plan

Atlas offers one plan: the Atlas base plan at $39/month. This plan includes full access to every Atlas feature with no restrictions. There are no separate plans to compare or upgrade to.

If your usage grows beyond what's included in the base plan, additional charges are applied automatically based on how much you use each feature. These charges are calculated monthly and reset every billing cycle, so you only pay more in the months where your store is actively benefiting from Atlas tools.

What's included

Every Atlas subscriber gets access to the full set of features:

  • License to use the Atlas theme

  • AI store builder

  • AI product page builder

  • AI photo generator

  • Bundler upsells and quantity breaks

  • Cart upsells

  • Sales Pages

The base plan also includes a set amount of usage at no extra cost:

  • Published product and sales pages: Up to 5

  • AI photos: 50 per month

  • Bundle revenue: Up to $1,000

  • Cart orders: Up to 250

For many stores, especially those just getting started, the base plan covers everything. You'll only see additional charges if your usage exceeds these included amounts.

ℹ️ Sales pages count toward your published pages limit. For example, if you have 3 product pages and 2 sales pages published, that's 5 pages total.

How usage-based pricing works

Atlas tracks your usage across four categories: published pages, AI photos, bundler revenue, and cart drawer orders. Each category has its own usage limits, and if you exceed what's included in the base plan, additional charges apply. For full details on every tier and its pricing, see [Atlas usage rates and tiers].

When your usage exceeds what's included in the base plan, you're automatically moved to the next tier for that specific category. Each tier adds an incremental monthly charge on top of your $39 base price. You don't need to do anything manually. The upgrade happens automatically.

Tiers reset at the start of each billing cycle. If your usage drops back down the following month, you'll only be charged for the tier that matches your actual usage that month.

For example, if your bundler generates $3,000 in revenue one month, you'd be on Tier 2 for the bundler category that month. If the next month your bundler revenue is $800, you'd be back on the base tier with no additional charge.

For the full breakdown of every tier, including prices and limits for each category, see Atlas usage rates and tiers.

The 7-day free trial

All new Atlas subscribers start with a 7-day free trial. During the trial, you have full access to every feature and the base usage limits.

When the trial ends, your subscription continues automatically at $39/month. You do not need to take any action to keep your subscription active. If you decide Atlas isn't for you, cancel your subscription before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

💡 You can cancel at any time during the trial from the Subscription page inside the Atlas app. If you cancel, you lose access to all paid features immediately.

The spending limit approval

When you first install Atlas, Shopify will ask you to approve a spending limit. This is a standard Shopify requirement for any app that uses usage-based billing.

The spending limit is set to $600 per 30 days by default. This is the maximum amount Shopify will allow Atlas to charge on top of your base plan in a single billing period. It does not mean you will be charged that amount. It simply authorizes Shopify to process usage-based charges as your store grows.

Grandfathered plans

ℹ️ If you subscribed to Atlas before the current pricing structure was introduced, you may still be on the previous plan (Starter at $49/month or Growth at $99/month). Your existing plan will remain active until you're notified about the migration via email. You'll receive advance notice with plenty of time to review the changes before anything changes on your account.
