The setup guide is the card near the top of your Atlas dashboard, titled Setup guide, with the line Use this personalized guide to get your store ready for sales. It tracks four things to do in your first weeks and shows how many you have completed. It is a checklist rather than a requirement: Atlas works whether or not you finish it, and nothing is locked behind it.
The four steps
The steps are split into two groups, Set up your store and Grow your revenue, and each step has its own button that takes you straight to the right screen.

The card shows how many of the four steps you have done, for example 1 out of 4 steps completed, each group shows its own count, and a finished step shows Completed. The guide opens on the first step you have not finished, and a step ticks off on its own once Atlas sees it done. There is no way to mark a step complete manually, and no need to: the guide reads your actual store.
Without an active Atlas plan, a step's button reads Upgrade to generate instead.
What the steps are actually measuring
Publish your store ticks off once at least one Atlas page has been published into a theme. A page saved as a draft does not count. If you have one unpublished store, the button opens it ready to publish; with several, it asks Choose a store to publish, and with none it starts a new store build.
Create and publish a cart upsell ticks off once a cart drawer is turned on.
ℹ️ If a step will not tick off and you are sure you did it, the usual cause is a draft rather than a published item. Check the status on the row in your projects table.
When you finish the last step, Atlas shows Setup guide completed and removes the guide by itself.
Dismissing and snoozing
Open the menu on the card for two choices:
Snoozehides the guide until you next open Atlas.Dismissremoves the guide from your dashboard for good.
Both are safe. Dismissing the guide does not affect your store, your pages, or your subscription. It only hides the card.
If dismissing fails you will see Couldn't dismiss the setup guide. Please try again. Refresh the page and try once more.
💡 If the guide is in your way but you have not finished it, snooze rather than dismiss. Snoozing keeps the progress visible for later, and the remaining steps are a reasonable order to work through.
