How to cancel your Atlas subscription

The three-step cancellation flow, what each confirmation means, and what to expect on your final bill.

Written by Eddie Lavandera

Cancelling takes three steps and a couple of minutes. Nothing you have built is deleted, but once the subscription ends your Atlas pages show a subscription notice to visitors instead of your content, and your bundles and cart drawer stop appearing. By the end of this your subscription will be cancelled and you will know exactly what to expect on your final bill.

In this article:

Step 1: Tell us what is not working

Open Subscription in the Atlas menu and start the cancellation. The modal is titled Cancel Atlas subscription.

Step 1 first shows what Atlas has done for your store: Before you cancel, here's what Atlas is doing for your store, with your Store revenue, Bundler revenue and Cart upsell revenue.

Then it asks why you are leaving, under Tell us what's not working, with the note A human reads every one of these within 4 hours.

The reasons, each with sub-options and a free-text field:

Reason

Sub-options

Too expensive

didn't expect the charge, not worth the price, only needed it short-term

Something's buggy

Stores & Pages, Bundler, Cart

Doesn't look good enough

Stores & Pages, Bundler, Cart

Only needed it temporarily

pausing I'll be back, just testing, used it once

Going with another tool

another AI builder, an MCP or AI coding, a developer or agency

Something else

💡 If you are leaving because something is broken or missing, say so here rather than just cancelling. These are read by a person within a few hours, and a fixable problem is often fixed.

Step 2: The pause offer

Step 2 asks Before you cancel — would pausing work better? and offers 30 days at $0 with everything left in place.

If your reason is temporary, take it. See How to pause your Atlas subscription.

Otherwise select Continue to cancel.

Step 3: Confirm

Titled Confirm cancellation, with Last step. Here's exactly what happens after you confirm.

What it shows depends on your situation.

What the confirmation says for a paying subscriber

You will see a heads-up about the final charge:

Heads up: one more charge ({amount}) may still process in the next 2 weeks.

with the explanation:

This is Shopify's billing cycle finishing the current period — not an extra charge from Atlas. It's the last one; nothing bills after.

Then three statements:

  • → Your subscription ends {date} (end of current billing period).

  • → You can come back anytime — your assets (Stores, Pages, Bundles, Carts) are never deleted.

And an acknowledgement to tick:

I understand I may see one final charge from Atlas for this current billing period for ({amount}).

⚠️ That final charge is normal and expected. It covers the billing period you are already in, and it is processed by Shopify rather than initiated by Atlas. Seeing it is not a mistake and it is not a double charge.

Then select Confirm cancellation, or Stay subscribed to back out.

What it says during a trial

Cancelling during a trial ends it immediately rather than running to day seven:

  • → Your subscription ends immediately.

  • → Your subscription ends immediately (you still have {count} days left in your free trial).

  • → Your remaining trial days stay available — resubscribe before they run out to use them.

The acknowledgement reads I understand, I want to cancel my free trial.

You are not billed for a cancelled trial.

What it says if you are paused

→ Your pause ends and your subscription is cancelled now. Nothing else will be charged.

No final charge, because there is no active billing period to finish.

After you confirm

Atlas confirms with Subscription cancelled.

Nothing is deleted. Your bundles, cart drawers, projects and research remain in your account, and your page files stay in your theme. All of it stops working on your storefront until you re-subscribe. See What happens after you cancel.

What stops is your access to Atlas features that require a subscription.

ℹ️ Cancelling in Atlas is the complete action. You do not also need to uninstall the app, and uninstalling without cancelling does not stop an outstanding charge. Shopify will still collect anything owed for the period you used.
