Can I move my Atlas subscription to another store?

No. Subscriptions are tied to the Shopify store they were bought on. Cancel on the old store and subscribe on the new one.

No. An Atlas subscription belongs to the Shopify store it was purchased on and cannot be transferred. This is a consequence of how Shopify handles app billing: the subscription is a charge on that store's Shopify account, not a licence attached to you. To use Atlas on a different store, cancel on the old one and subscribe on the new one.

Why it cannot transfer

App subscriptions are billed by Shopify to a specific store. Atlas does not hold your payment method and cannot move a Shopify charge from one store to another.

The same applies to everything built with it. Your projects, research, personas, bundles and cart drawers live on the store they were created on.

Moving to a new store

  1. Set up Atlas on the new store. Install it and start a subscription there.

  2. Rebuild what you need. Recreate your project with its research and voice settings, then rebuild bundles and your cart drawer.

  3. Cancel on the old store, once you are satisfied the new one is working.

💡 Do it in that order. Cancelling first leaves you unable to open the old store's settings to copy anything across, and there is no export.

Before cancelling, copy out anything you will want again:

  • Your customer research documents, since Atlas does not keep downloadable copies

  • Your saved personas and their angles

  • Your bundle offer structures and pricing

  • Your cart drawer settings, particularly thresholds and text

  • Any performance figures you want as a baseline

What happens on the old store

Cancelling deletes nothing, but the old store's Atlas pages, bundles and cart drawer stop working once its subscription ends. Everything remains in the account in case you return.

Bundle offers and the cart drawer stop being served once the subscription ends. See What happens after you cancel.

⚠️ Expect one final charge on the old store after cancelling, covering the billing period already in progress. Uninstalling the app does not avoid it.

If you are migrating stores rather than switching

If you are moving to a new Shopify store and want the same setup, plan for two subscriptions overlapping briefly: one on the old store while it still trades, one on the new store while you build it.

That overlap is unavoidable, but it is usually short, and it is far safer than cancelling before the new store is ready.

Selling or transferring ownership of a store

If the Shopify store itself changes hands, the Atlas subscription goes with the store, because it is attached to that store's Shopify account. The new owner inherits the subscription and everything built with it.

Nothing needs to be done in Atlas. The new owner should check the billing details and the subscription status once the transfer completes.
