Trusted Host - Turnover Walk Through

Use this article when you have a Trusted Host - Turnover Walk Through job in the Host App, including the Claimed and Remote Market versions. It covers what the job is about, what to bring, what to never skip, and what to do if something is wrong.

Who this is for: Trusted Hosts who check a home after its turnover cleaning.

What is this job about?

This is a quality check of the turnover cleaning, done before a member moves in.

You inspect the cleaner's work against Landing's standards, fix anything you can address in a reasonable amount of time, and rate the cleaner. You also confirm the keys, access, WiFi, and TVs are ready for the member.

In the Host App this job can also appear as Trusted Host - Turnover Walk Through - Claimed, - Remote Market - Assigned, or - Remote Market - Claimed. They are all the same job, and Landing either assigns it to you or posts it for Trusted Hosts to claim. If you claim one, do not claim a walk through for a home where you did the turnover clean just before, unless an Area General Manager or Landing support asks you to.

This is a critical job, so if you cannot make it, let Landing know as early as you can. Inside 24 hours of the start time you cannot release it yourself in the app.

What do I need before I start?

Before you head to the home, check you have everything in this table. The times are a guide for each home size.

Credential

Home quality assessment credential, or a cleaning credential for the claimed versions

How long it takes

About 1 hour for a 1 or 2 bedroom home, about 2 hours for a 3 or 4 bedroom home

What to bring

Your cleaning kit, stain remover, a lint roller, pet stain and odor eliminator, a step stool, and your PEX Card. A carpet cleaning machine is recommended. See Building Your Host Cleaning Kit.

Access

Read the access instructions in your job before you arrive. See Getting In.

Don't skip these

Complete every task in the Host App as instructed, and upload the photos each task asks for. A job is not complete until every task is done. Pay particular attention to these:

  1. "Key Inventory" and "Take a Photo - Keynest/Keycafe." Photograph every key, including the Host keys in the lockbox, KeyNest, or KeyCafe and the keys left in the home for the member. These photos are Landing's record if a member later disputes the keys or loses them. When you leave, put the key back and photograph it in its bin.

  2. "Inspect the Home." Use the cleaning checklist linked in the task to check the cleaner covered every area. Fix what you reasonably can as part of this job.

  3. "Rate the Cleaner." Rate the turnover cleaner honestly using the form in the task. If there are cleaning issues, take photos and send them in the chat, so Landing can use them when giving the cleaner feedback.

  4. "Speed Test the Wi-Fi" and "Inspect TVs - Wifi and Streaming Apps." Confirm the WiFi works and every TV is connected and signed out of the previous member's apps. See Landing WiFi and Connecting the TV to WiFi.

What if something is not right?

The home is not ready and you cannot fix it in a reasonable amount of time. Take photos, send them in the chat, and let Landing know before you leave, so Landing can arrange the next step before the member arrives.

Housewares are missing. Record them on the form in "Inventory the Housewares," then message Landing in the app to say you have submitted it. See Houseware Inventory & Room Location.

The WiFi is below 50 Mbps or a TV will not connect. Let Landing know, so it can be fixed before the member moves in.

There is an access or maintenance issue. Report access issues in "Assess the Access," and submit a maintenance request for anything broken. See Making a Maintenance Request.
