When activating a class you can set its start and end dates with the Dates tab. You can choose to use relative dates or set your own specific dates.

Using relative dates

Opting for relative dates means that the opening and due dates for sections and assessed tasks will automatically flow through from the study plan an author set up for the course.

Learner relative dates

When you use learner relative dates, you can also customise the start dates for individual learners within the same class.

You can set these when adding learners with the Access tab.

Facilitators can see individual learner start dates in the Class console.

How to set your your own dates

If you don't want to use relative or individual dates, toggle Use relative dates to No then set your own dates.

Choose when the course Opens and Closes. You can do the same for each section and assessed task in the course.

Staggering the start date for one or more sections means learners will see the section name, but can't access the content until it opens.
