Troubleshoot Shipping Costs as a Seller

What you'll learn

How shipping is calculated on Jamble, why it sometimes looks high, low or different between buyers, and what you can do to keep shipping fair.

How shipping is calculated

You do not set the shipping cost. Jamble calculates it automatically based on:

  • The weight and size of the parcel, from what is on the product (Automático (Automatic), Informar peso e tamanho (Enter weight and size) or one of your shipping profiles)

  • The distance between your shipping address and the buyer's address

  • The Correios services you accept (Mini, PAC, and SEDEX, which is always on)

  • The buyer's delivery preference: Mais barato (Cheapest) or Premium

  • How many items the buyer gets from you. Each extra item only adds the difference in shipping

The buyer sees the shipping cost before paying and pays it at checkout. Jamble's commission is calculated on the product price, without shipping.

Common issues

"The buyer thinks shipping is expensive"

Why it can happen:

  • The weight or size on the product is bigger than the real parcel

  • The buyer is far from you. Long routes cost more

  • The buyer chose Premium delivery, which gives priority to SEDEX

  • You turned off Mini or PAC in your preferences, and only a more expensive service was left

What to do:

  1. Review the product's weight and size. Use the real parcel, already packed

  2. Review your Preferências de envio (Shipping preferences). If your items allow it, keep Mini and PAC on

  3. Encourage buying several items. In the same live, shipping for extra items is only the difference

  4. Explain to the buyer that shipping depends on weight, size, distance and service

"Shipping looks too cheap"

Why it can happen:

  • The weight or size on the product is smaller than the real parcel

What to do:

  • Fix the product before selling it again. If the real parcel does not match the label, Correios can refuse it at drop-off and the shipment can be delayed. For a sale that already happened, contact support before generating the label

"Different buyers see different shipping costs for the same product"

This is normal. Shipping depends on the distance to each buyer, each buyer's delivery preference and how many items each one gets.

"Shipping changed for the same product"

Why it can happen:

  • You changed the product's weight, size or shipping profile

  • You changed the accepted services in your Preferências de envio

  • You changed the default address you ship from

  • The buyer already has other items of yours in the same live, so shipping for the new item is only the difference

How to fix a product's weight and size

  1. Open the product and tap to edit it

  2. In the shipping field, choose Automático, Informar peso e tamanho or one of your shipping profiles

  3. Save

The change applies to your next sales. Sales already made keep the shipping the buyer paid.

If you edit a shipping profile, the products that use it also use the new measurements for their next sales. See Choose a shipping profile.

Important tips

  • Weigh and measure the packed parcel. It is the most common cause of wrong shipping costs

  • Use shipping profiles for items you sell often. This keeps the measurements right on every product

  • Keep Mini and PAC on if your items allow it

  • Review your settings from time to time. See Shipping settings

Frequently asked questions

Can I set the shipping price? No. Shipping is calculated automatically.

Can I change shipping after the sale? No. The buyer pays for shipping at the time of purchase, and that amount does not change afterwards.

Why is shipping to some regions more expensive? Shipping depends on distance. Shipping to more distant regions usually costs more.

Can I choose the service for each order? Not order by order. You set which services you accept, and Jamble picks among them based on the parcel and the buyer's preference.

What if the real parcel does not match what is on the label? Contact support before dropping it off. See Make a shipping adjustment.
